Having been perplexed at the difference in fabric produced by bamboo v. addi dpns, I finally took a moment to check the needle sizes. Tired of dragging thick (2.75mm) bamboo needles thru the instep increases I slipped into something more comfortable: Addi dpns. SAME exact size! But the outcome is so different:
